Master Class at the Center by French-Armenian Volunteer and Photographer Alexander Adamyan

“Photography is an impression of the moment. If the beautiful did not live within us, how could we recognize it?”
Ernst Haas

During his stay in Gyumri, Alexander Adamyan, a French-Armenian volunteer and photographer, conducted theoretical and practical photography classes for students aged 12–18 at the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.

Throughout the course, he introduced the participants to the secrets and nuances of photography. The classes took place in a warm and informal atmosphere and were both engaging and informative. Alexander provided interesting and educational answers to the teenagers’ questions.

The course covered:

  • the components and subcomponents of a camera, as well as their functions;

  • the role and practical application of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO;

  • what depth of field is and how it can be controlled or changed, including the use of a blurred background and aperture settings;

  • composition in photography.

The participants also learned how to work properly with light in order to create high-quality photographs.

The students gained additional creative knowledge and skills. Such courses are inspiring and contribute to the development of the students’ aesthetic taste and creative abilities.

We once again express our gratitude to Alexander for the effective and inspiring cooperation.
