Blue-Eyed Homeland

On March 11, a literary and musical matinee dedicated to the 120th birth anniversary of the renowned poet Yeghishe Charents took place at the Gyumri "Entanik" Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia. The event was organized by the students of the "Computer Training" club under the leadership of instructor Karine Grigoryan.

In a beautifully and tastefully decorated room, Yeghishe Charents's famous and beloved song "My Sweet Armenia" resounded. Through a slide presentation they created, the club's students introduced Charents's life and literary works. Popular poems by Charents dedicated to the homeland and mother—which have lost none of their relevance—were recited. Charents the poet was portrayed as a revolutionary, a citizen, and a patriot. Songs composed on Charents's works were also performed during the event.

The purpose of the matinee was to apply the acquired computer skills and once again affirm Charents's greatness.
