Intercultural Dialogue
The golden chronicle of the centuries-old Armenian-Georgian friendship was enriched with yet another beautiful chapter: spiritual unity, centuries-old friendship, and brotherly relations…
As part of the festive celebrations dedicated to St. George, organized by the Union for the Development of Culture and International Relations of Georgia, a dance competition-festival was held in the capital of Georgia. It brought together 22 Armenian and Georgian cultural groups, giving new impetus to expanding cooperation between the two friendly peoples, enriching their cultures through mutual exchange, and further developing intercultural relations.
Armenia was represented at the festival by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education and Science in Gyumri.
Under the sounds of the Armenian “Berd” dance performance and an inspiring song, the Armenian and Georgian flags waved together as a symbol of the friendship between two peoples with centuries-old histories.
The audience was captivated by the performances of the “Ընտանիք” Ensemble, and the standing ovation demonstrated the strength of the Armenian spirit, its unwavering devotion to national traditions, and its noble patriotic ideals.
As a result of the impartial jury voting, the “Ընտանիք” Center’s Ensemble received three major awards: diplomas, badges, and a commemorative medal of St. George.
The festival organizers also extended an invitation to the ensemble to participate in the main Christmas celebrations in Georgia.
