The “Ընտանիք” Center at the “DigiTec Expo 2016” Exhibition

From September 30 to October 2, students of the Robotics Group of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center of Gyumri under the Ministry of Education and Science participated in the annual “DigiTec Expo 2016” exhibition at the Yerevan Expo Center, organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE).

The Center’s students presented a variety of devices at the exhibition, including a solar energy system controller, a mine-detecting robot, a frequency generator, an alarm signaling system, a boat, and other projects.

The aim of the event was to create a favorable environment for communication between companies in the information technology sector, consumers, and society, as well as to present the current state, achievements, and prospects of Armenia’s information and telecommunications technology sector.

It is worth mentioning that, shortly before this event, at the Republican “Mine-Detecting Robots” Competition held at the same venue, a robot created by students of the “Ընտանիք” Center won an honorable second place. The device attracted the attention of representatives of the Ministry of Defense.

The projects created by the Center’s students also attracted the attention of President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who visited the Yerevan Expo. Approaching the booth, the President spoke with the students and asked questions about the applications and usefulness of their robots.

The students of the Robotics Group presented their projects to the President, explaining that they had created everything from scratch, were working on developing new programs and systems, and were seeking to improve their existing robots. President S. Sargsyan encouraged the students to fully realize their potential in this field and contribute to the development of the country’s military-industrial sector.

It is also worth noting that the achievements of the students of the “Ընտանիք” Center in the field of robotics were covered by the renowned British magazine “The Guardian.”
