End-of-Year Review

From July 6 to 10, the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center of Gyumri held a review of the work carried out during the 2014–2015 academic year, featuring performances by the artistic groups and an exhibition of the students’ creative works.

Alongside the exhibition of works created by students of the Center’s various groups, the works of students from the newly established Painting Groups in the communities of Goghovit, Tsoghamarg, and Torosgyugh were also displayed. This provided an opportunity to assess and evaluate the level of knowledge, abilities, and skills acquired by the students.

The dedication and wholehearted efforts of the specialists were clearly evident. This was reflected in the responses of local residents and art enthusiasts, whose appreciation placed an even greater responsibility on both the participants and the instructors.

The reporting concert held in the auditorium of the “Ընտանիք” Center was attended by artists, community leaders, school principals, teachers, and parents. Students from the dance groups operating in Gyumri, various rural communities of Shirak Province, and Ashotsk performed their finest works.

In his speech, Arthur Minasyan, Director of the Center, congratulated the students who were taking the stage for the first time. Continuing his remarks, he noted that the dance groups in the communities had been established only in recent months, and that in a short period the Center had managed to educate and nurture the students gathered under its auspices, discover their talents and abilities, and foster in them an Armenian national spirit and consciousness. He emphasized that this was the result of the instructors’ dedicated and painstaking work.

The expectations of those present were met, and the desired results were clearly visible. Nevertheless, as the Center’s director noted, there was still much work to be done.

Students of the Martial Arts Group also gave a demonstration, showcasing their skills and expressing the harmony of spirit, mind, and body as a means of achieving self-control. The performance created an energetic and engaging atmosphere.

Words of appreciation were expressed by A. Arshakyan, Principal of Tsoghamarg Secondary School; distinguished educator T. Darbinyan; and V. Grigoryan, a student of the Dance Group in Torosgyugh. They expressed their gratitude to the administration of the “Ընտանիք” Center for its extensive work and mission, as well as for the tremendous effort and dedication invested over the years in the education and upbringing of the younger generation.

They emphasized that, as a result of these efforts, the intellectual growth and development of teenagers in both Gyumri and the surrounding communities had become evident, while the Center’s activities had also contributed to the revitalization of rural community life.
