“The Courage of a Young Chess Player’s Powerful Mind…”

From November 17 to 27, an autumn qualification tournament was held at the Tigran Petrosian Chess School SNCO of the Gyumri Municipality.

The tournament was attended by students of the Chess Group of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center, including 9-year-old Slavik Mkhitaryan.

During his games, Slavik purposefully applied his chess knowledge and demonstrated remarkable determination, perseverance, and ingenuity. For him, the main goal was not only to win, but also to demonstrate beautiful and skillful chess moves.

The tournament ended with a convincing victory for Slavik, who scored 8 points out of a possible 9. For his determined play and successful conquest of the “royal fortresses,” Slavik Mkhitaryan took 1st place and earned the 1st Sports Category.

The administration of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center warmly congratulated Slavik Mkhitaryan, wishing him victories not only in the fields of science and art, but also in human relationships—and that his only defeats would be those occurring between the black and white pieces.

Another achievement was added to the golden record of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center: the victory of 9-year-old Slavik Mkhitaryan.
