Robots: A Guarantee of New Victories
The "Entanik" Youth Creative Center of Gyumri under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia recorded another victory; this time, the achievement belonged to the students of the robotics club. On April 16, in the final stage of the "Mine-Seeking Robots" competition organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises with the support of the "Ucom" company at the Yerevan Expo Center, the robot designed and built by the students of the "Entanik" Center won a honorable 2nd place. The competition aimed to reveal and encourage young specialists in the field, develop robotics in Armenia, and contribute to the production of military-grade devices that ensure national security. The participating teams' robots were tasked with navigating past obstacles to locate mines hidden under artificial turf at a depth of up to 3 cm, physically marking their location, and sending an electronic map of their layout to the server. The center's "Android" team excellently coped with the tasks set before them. Putting the robot into operation and using their knowledge and skills, the students demonstrated the device's capabilities to the jury members and those present. It should be noted that Davit Nikoghosyan, leader of the "Digital Cloud" team from the High School of the Gyumri Branch of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia—which took 3rd place—studied in the robotics club of the "Entanik" Center.
