An Event Dedicated to Poetry Day

On April 4, the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center of Gyumri welcomed under its roof dedicated representatives of the city’s cultural, academic, and spiritual spheres: members of the Gyumri Writers’ Union, department heads and lecturers of the State Pedagogical Institute, and Father Hakob Grigoryan.

The atmosphere was poetic, and the institution’s auditorium was adorned in a lyrical spirit. The Center’s students warmly and enthusiastically welcomed the distinguished guests, as they were about to present to the audience the works of our fellow citizen, renowned poet Roza Hovhannisyan, imbued with a profound biographical and philosophical spirit.

The poet’s words — “Pouring a little from my cup of life, I say: I have decided to donate blood to Armenian poetry” — had become a guiding principle for the students. At every stage of this journey, the reciters sought to pause, reflect, and emerge enriched, carrying the fragrance and melody of poetry into the broad avenues of life, where new works and achievements awaited them.

It was noteworthy that M. Torosyan, a member of the Center’s staff, had transformed the poet’s words into a song, which was performed by one of the Center’s promising students.

The event was accompanied by a slideshow featuring the poet’s vivid and expressive words, immersing the audience in the pure and invigorating waters of the ocean of poetry.

At the end of the event, the poet expressed her gratitude and answered questions from the audience.

The event was concluded by A. Minasyan, Director of the “Ընտանիք” Children and Youth Creative Center, who honored the poet with the title of “Honorary Member of the ‘Ընտանիք’ Center”, presenting her with a certificate of appreciation and a unique commemorative gift entitled “Muse of Art,” created by Center employee S. Mkrtchyan.

The gathering was further enriched by the pastoral blessing of Father Hakob Grigoryan.

Indeed, poets are the strings of the human soul created by the Heavenly One, destined to make the world more melodious and harmonious.

The event had significant aesthetic, educational, and cultural value.
