Exhibition-event titled "Fusion of Literature and Art" at Shirak Regional Library SNCO
In the library's "Attic" hall, the students of the miniature painting group of "Endanik" Center, under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, presented their understanding of literary works from the perspective of art history.
Book art is equally important when, alongside the literary text in the reader's mind, a pictorial interpretation of a character or scene is formed, which becomes even more impressive when the reader perceives the fusion of a classical work and the artist's interpretation.
The students of the group had read works by both the Great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, as well as contemporary writers such as Hakob Mushi, Andranik Karapetyan, Shnorik Shahinyan, Robert Esayan, and Hovik Karapetyan.
Their interpretations of fairy tales, proverbs, poems, and other genre works were presented in the language of art and painted on canvas.
The students of the creative journalism group recited and read the opinions of well-known literary scholars about the great poet from Lori. The event-exhibition was also attended by members of the Shirak Regional Branch of the Writers' Union of Armenia, Shnorik Shahinyan and Ruben Esayan, who expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the students for depicting their literary heroes.
Such events in the library generally help teenagers connect with the literary world and become familiar with the subtleties of book art creation.
Seda Gevorgyan, the Acting Director of the library, also expressed her gratitude to "Endanik" Center for its continuous cooperation and for making the literary world more visual through the language of art. As a token of appreciation for years of collaboration, Arthur Harutyunyan, a student of the miniature painting group, presented a hand-crafted portrait of Hovhannes Tumanyan to the library on behalf of the center.
Over 30 artworks remained in the library’s exhibition hall for a few more days.
