Gyumri Day

Gyumri Day

“Gyumri is the home of every Gyumri native and every resident of Shirak, their cherished dream and luminous sanctuary, their hope and refuge…”

On September 5, the annual “Gyumri Day” celebration was marked with great splendor.

The “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center of Gyumri under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia actively participated in events organized at the city’s cultural institutions and public venues.

This unique initiative aimed to contribute to the revival and preservation of national traditions, crafts, and arts, as well as to make national culture, rituals, and celebrations more organized and accessible, viewing them as an important foundation for the city’s development.

At the Avetik Isahakyan and Hovhannes Shiraz House-Museums, students of the Center’s various clubs demonstrated the process of creating carpets, rugs, clay crafts, and silver jewelry.

As part of the “City Day” celebrations, the Center’s ensembles participated in the traditional “Bread Festival”, presenting Armenian folk and ethnographic songs and dances. Their performances reflected the spirit of the Armenian people and their devotion to national traditions.

Meanwhile, the exhibition hall featured thematic handicrafts created by students from various clubs—unique works of both mind and hand that demonstrated the creative identity of the Armenian people and their inventive spirit.

Particularly noteworthy was the admiring response of Felix Tsolakyan, Governor of Shirak Province, to the unique exhibition presented by the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center.
