Musa Dagh — 100th Anniversary

On November 16, the teachers and students of the Gyumri “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center visited the Musaler community as part of the program entitled “The Centenary of the Heroic Battle of Musa Dagh.”

The aim of the program was to familiarize teenagers with the history of the people of Musa Dagh, strengthen their knowledge of the heroic battle of Musa Dagh, recognize their victory as a vivid manifestation of patriotism, self-sacrifice, and the unity of the Armenian people, introduce the teenagers of Musaler to the activities of the “Yntaniq” Center, organize master classes in arts and crafts, and highlight the importance of extracurricular education.

The Center’s teachers and students visited the memorial complex dedicated to the heroic battle of Musa Dagh and learned about remarkable facts and details concerning the battle. The busts of Austrian writer Franz Werfel and French Admiral Louis Dartige du Fournet, who honored the rebellious people of Musa Dagh, inspired feelings of reverence and respect among the students.

At the Franz Werfel Secondary School, an exhibition of handicrafts created by the students of the Center introduced the people of Musaler to the activities of the “Yntaniq” Center. To awaken interest in and appreciation for various branches of arts and crafts and contribute to their dissemination and preservation, the Center’s teachers and students organized one-day practical training sessions in different fields. The school students expressed their gratitude through inspiring performances, including spirited patriotic songs and recitations.

Svetlana Petrosyan, Deputy Director of the “Yntaniq” Center, presented a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative gift to the Franz Werfel Secondary School of Musaler, represented by its principal, Aghavni Vezyryan, for its cooperation and active participation in the program.

The heroic battle of Musa Dagh is a vivid testament to the united and victorious national character of the Armenian people.
