Seminar in the Torosgyugh and Tsoghamarg Communities of Shirak Province within the Framework of the “Silent Witnesses of History” Program

Within the framework of the “Silent Witnesses of History” program, the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center held a seminar-discussion on the topic of “Genocide” at the secondary school of Tsoghamarg community in Shirak Province on April 14, and at the Aleksan Hambaryan Secondary School in Torosgyugh on April 17, according to the program schedule.

The seminars were actively attended by teenagers from the communities, school staff, members of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, and freedom fighters. Under the prayer of spiritual pastor Rev. Father Harutyun Petrosyan, the participants paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Genocide.

The teenagers expressed their views on such phenomena. Regardless of their age, they fully understood and recognized the gravity and consequences of the crime. Each of them called for international recognition of the Genocide so that such brutal and inhumane acts would never again be committed against any nation, emphasizing that impunity leads to the repetition of such crimes.

The principals of the schools in Tsoghamarg and Torosgyugh communities, A. Arshakyan and G. Hakobyan, expressed their gratitude and emphasized the importance of holding such events in the communities, noting that they would help broaden teenagers’ understanding of genocides and strengthen their national and military-patriotic spirit.
