Batik

CONTENTS

During the course of study, students will familiarize themselves with batik as a branch of decorative and applied art, and will study the works of renowned Armenian and foreign masters of art. The skills, nuances, and secrets of the performance technique of this art will be presented. Students will study the types, stages, and characteristics of batik.

By the end of the learning program, students will master various batik techniques, which they will apply in the creation of clothing, scarves, pillows, and other items. Mastering these skills allows students to have a clear orientation in choosing the desired style and technique. All necessary conditions have been created in the classroom for organizing the educational process, and it is equipped with didactic accessories: easels, sculptures, landscapes, and necessary painting supplies.

FORMS OF INSTRUCTION

During the course of instruction, an individual approach is applied to students. Readings, discussions, and viewings of professional programs are conducted. Visits to exhibitions, museums, and meetings with artists are organized.

Throughout the learning process, students' practical capabilities and creative imagination are revealed, as a result of which talented students participate in international and republican competitions-exhibitions.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Within the framework of the program, learners must:

  • Create various batik works,

  • Observe safety rules for using drawing tools and supplies, and maintain the cleanliness of the workbench/workspace,

  • Know the stages of executing batik and recognize the types of batik,

  • Construct a composition, provide color solutions, and pay attention to the fundamentals of composition,

  • Select ornaments and motifs, draw, outline (sketch), and finish works,

  • Independently apply the acquired knowledge and pass it on to peers,

  • Develop imagination, abilities, and skills for independent creative work.
