On February 27, the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia held an event entitled “The Spirit of the Vardanants Is Eternal, and Its Inspiration Immortalizes,” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Derenik Demirchyan.

The aim of the event was to instill in the students the idea of sacredly preserving the homeland and the Christian faith, and to use the example of their ancestors in educating a brave and fearless generation.

The event began with a brief introduction to Derenik Demirchyan and his masterpiece, the historical novel “Vardanank.”

Guided by the motto “For the sake of faith, for the sake of the homeland,” the participants presented the Armenian people’s struggle for spiritual independence, freedom of faith and conscience, their determination to remain faithful to their national identity, and their readiness to withstand difficult trials.

The students who portrayed the heroes of Vardanank conveyed to the audience their noble and virtuous spirit, as well as their profound awareness of willingly and consciously facing death and thereby achieving immortality.

Particularly impressive was the appeal of Sparapet Vardan Mamikonian to his soldiers, urging them not to be intimidated or afraid of the multitude of pagans, to fight to the last drop of their blood, and to remain united.

The students of the Center came to understand that they must become worthy bearers of the spirit of the Vardanants, because it is a testament to our endurance and victories.
