“United Motherland”: Valuing Unity, Identity, and Independence
At the “Endanik” Children and Youth Creative Center, an event entitled “United Motherland” was held on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia. The event brought together historical memory, the appreciation of national identity, and the transmission of patriotic ideas through art.
The event began with a solemn performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia, creating a symbolic and patriotic atmosphere.
Historian and volunteer participant in the 44-day Artsakh war Abraham Avagyan was invited to the event and delivered a speech entitled “Unity as the Foundation of National Stability: Historical Lessons and Current Challenges.” The speaker addressed the importance of national unity, the lessons of historical experience, responsibility toward the homeland, and the necessity of remaining united in the face of contemporary challenges.
The artistic part of the event was presented under the title “Dedication of Generations.” Students of the center’s artistic groups performed musical and artistic pieces, expressing through their creative potential the ideas of homeland, national values, and continuity between generations. Each performance conveyed the significance of the bond between generations, love for the homeland, and the preservation and transmission of national culture.
At the end of the event, the guests visited an exhibition entitled “The Expression of Armenian Identity in Art,” featuring works created by students of the woodcarving group. The exhibited works once again demonstrated that national identity finds expression not only through history and words, but also through art, creativity, and cultural heritage.
At the conclusion of the event, Eliza Frangulyan, Head of the Artistic Department, delivered a speech emphasizing the role of such initiatives in the patriotic education of young people, the recognition of national values, and the strengthening of cultural ties between generations. She thanked Abraham Avagyan for participating in the event and sharing his knowledge and experience with the students, and presented him with Holy Scriptures as a symbolic gift.
The “United Motherland” event became a unique expression of the ideological message of the 35th anniversary of independence, bringing together history, memory, art, and the dedication of generations to the homeland. It once again emphasized that independence is not only an achievement of statehood, but also a value preserved, appreciated, and given new meaning by every generation.
