
Concert event entitled "Armenian National Musical Treasure"
On September 9, a concert-event entitled "Armenian National Musical Treasure" was held in the children's creative center "Entanik". In the list of performances of the concert, well-known singers of Armenian traditional music were selected. Through this event, the gems of Armenian national musical art were valued, the Armenian national musical treasure was appreciated, dances seasoned with Armenian rhythms were performed, accompanied by rhythmic sounds of duduk and dhol. Students of the dhol workshop presented information about the Armenian percussion instrument and the feature that the instrument belonging to the class of two-sided drums accompanies almost all musical instruments.
Duduk occupies a special place among Armenian wind instruments. Thanks to its warm and beautiful voice, particularly lyrical melodies occupy a large place in the repertoire of duduk players. Duduk is an ensemble instrument, and the students of the center’s duduk workshop gave the best presentation on the use of the instrument, its 1900-year history and that it dates back to the time of King Tigran the Great. Although the duduk is played in many countries of the Caucasus, its homeland is Armenia. The national song and dance, the soulful sounds of the duduk captivated and enchanted not only the Armenian nation, but also foreigners, through whom they learned about the enduring values of our culture. The concert ended with a joint performance of the students of the duduk and dhol workshops. Teachers, parents, students from different workshops of the center were also present at the event.
