In Anipemza, Under the Heritage of Ancient Culture: Isahakyan and Saryan

As part of the series of events dedicated to two giants of Armenian artistic and literary culture — Avetik Isahakyan (150th anniversary) and Martiros Saryan (145th anniversary) — the students of the Endanik Children and Youth Center presented their creative work in the Anipemza community of Shirak Province, at the historic site of the Yereruyk Temple.

In this symbolic location, beside one of the magnificent examples of early medieval Armenian architecture, the event turned into a spiritual and cultural gathering. The young participants presented theatrical poetry recitations and analyzed Isahakyan’s poetry and Saryan’s paintings, seeking to relive and interpret the creative worldview of the two masters.

During the event, particular emphasis was placed on the significance of the setting: amid the stone silence of Yereruyk Temple, art became a living dialogue between the past and the present.

A plein-air painting session was also organized, during which the teenagers worked under the open sky, attempting to translate into color the emotions and images conveyed by Saryan’s world of colors.

The event held in Anipemza became a unique example of combining cultural heritage with contemporary youth creativity. It contributed to enriching the participants’ thinking, deepening their interest in art, and fostering appreciation for national values.

The program is implemented with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and on the initiative of the Endanik Center.
