Isahakyan Seminar: A Dialogue Between Contemporaries Through Pen and Brush

A literary seminar was held at the Shirak Regional Branch of the Writers’ Union of Armenia, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Avetik Isahakyan and the 145th anniversary of Martiros Saryan, two giants of Armenian national literature and fine arts.

Held under the title “The Master in the City of Masters,” the seminar brought together literature, visual arts, and the vibrant creative expression of children and young people.

The seminar was led by literary scholar and member of the Writers’ Union Karine Martirosyan, who, through her professional perspective and profound literary insight, presented the depths of Avetik Isahakyan’s work, the distinctive features of his linguistic and intellectual thinking, and his spiritual values.

The seminar also highlighted the colorful philosophy of Saryan’s worldview and explored how it intersects with the inner world of Isahakyan’s literary characters. Students of the Endanik Center performed recitations of Isahakyan’s poems.

The seminar had not only an educational but also an instructive and inspiring significance, contributing to the transmission of literary culture between generations. Karine Martirosyan also discussed with the participants the contemporary relevance of Isahakyan’s values, particularly the importance of promoting the ideas of peace, love, and patriotism in our time.

The program is implemented with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and on the initiative of the Endanik Center.
