“Isahakyan’s Poetry and Saryan’s Colors in Isahakyan Community”

As part of the series of events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Avetik Isahakyan and the 145th anniversary of Martiros Saryan, entitled “Masters of the Pen and Brush: Avetik Isahakyan 150 and Martiros Saryan 145,” the students of the Endanik Children and Youth Creative Center held an event in the Isahakyan community of Shirak Province, where Avetik Isahakyan spent his childhood.

In the center of the village, near the bust of Avetik Isahakyan, in a symbolic atmosphere, the students of the Endanik Center and Isahakyan Secondary School presented theatrical poetry recitations, interpretations of literary works, content analyses, and artistic performances. The environment filled with memories of the great writer’s childhood provided the participants with a unique inspiration to create.

A plein-air painting session was also organized, featuring outdoor creative work using Saryan-inspired colors, which was subsequently presented in an exhibition.

The event served as another platform for introducing young people to the lives and creative legacies of two prominent figures of our culture — masters of literature and fine arts — while also encouraging their creative thinking and means of expression. The initiative gave the young participants an opportunity not only to explore the art and works of Avetik Isahakyan and Martiros Saryan in depth, but also to express their feelings and perceptions through art, fostering interest, respect, and love for cultural values.

The program is implemented with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and on the initiative of the Endanik Center.
