The “Aivazovsky-200” Series of Events Kicked Off at the Center

As part of a program dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the great Armenian seascape painter Hovhannes Aivazovsky, the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia held its first seminar on April 12 at the Yerazgavors Secondary School in Shirak Province.

The seminar and discussion was entitled “Aivazovsky’s Roots: Seascape Painting from the Middle Ages to the Present Day.” The school’s staff and students attended the event.

The participants were also provided with informational materials about Aivazovsky. The schoolchildren listened with great interest to a presentation by V. Shamamyan, an artist and head of the Center’s miniature painting club, who spoke about the world-famous seascape painter’s life and artistic career.

Particularly noteworthy were the screening of a video about Aivazovsky, the exhibition of paintings reflecting his art, and their interpretation.

The seminar concluded with a question-and-answer session. The participants also completed questionnaires, emphasizing the importance of organizing various educational and cultural events in the community and the need to introduce young people to great Armenian figures.
