“Yntaniq Center”: “Gyumri Day” City Celebration
On October 1, the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center under the Ministry of Education and Science actively participated in the annual citywide celebrations dedicated to Gyumri Day, as part of the program entitled “Gyumri Day.”
The program aimed to raise interest in national crafts and arts, showcase students’ works representing various branches of applied arts, promote cultural cooperation with other institutions, and highlight the importance of extracurricular education.
At the initiative of the “Yntaniq” Center, a festive concert was organized for residents in the courtyard of St. Hovhannes of Mtsbin Church in the Ani district, featuring students from the Center’s Dance, Martial Arts, and Ethnographic Song and Dance groups.
The festive atmosphere continued on Kirk Kerkorian Avenue, where the traditional Crafts Festival took place. The Center participated in the exhibition by presenting handmade works and robots created by its students. The students’ works reflected their dedication to national culture and traditions and aimed to contribute to their revival and preservation.
For visitors interested in traditional Armenian crafts and arts, the Center’s students demonstrated the process of making carpets, rugs, clay objects, and silver jewelry.
The unique works created by the students of the “Yntaniq” Center, combining national and traditional elements with creativity, attracted the attention of Gyumri residents, representatives of the city and regional authorities, and, notably, the President of the Republic.
President Serzh Sargsyan took an interest in the students’ works, asked questions about the production process and practical applications of the displayed items, and paid particular attention to the field of robotics. He encouraged the students to continue creating and contributing to the cultural development of the city.
A. Minasyan, Director of the Center, presented the President with a miniature model of the Memorial of Gratitude, created on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the educational institution’s founding. The memorial symbolized the pain of a people that survived the devastating earthquake, divine love and human dedication, and the beginning of a new life filled with hope, light, and knowledge.
