“Yntaniq” Center: A Theatrical Performance Entitled “An Old Traditional Wedding” Dedicated to Gyumri, a Cradle of Culture

On June 22, the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center hosted a theatrical performance entitled “An Old Traditional Wedding,” dedicated to Gyumri, a cradle of culture.

The event began with the traditional preparations for the wedding guests, after which the students staged an old traditional Armenian wedding, presenting its customs and distinctive cultural character.

During the performance, the students appeared in hairstyles and traditional costumes characteristic of the historical period, using appropriate ceremonial accessories and presenting traditional songs and dances. Drawing on the history of Armenian ethnography, they portrayed wedding rituals, some of which have not survived to the present day, while many others remain relevant today.

As a result, the teenagers became acquainted with wedding traditions from different regions of Armenia and with customs that have been preserved in Armenian weddings to this day.

The stage turned into a genuine celebration: the young “wedding guests” gave an impressive performance and successfully conveyed the festive wedding atmosphere to the audience.
