“Yntaniq” Center: “The Gyumri Benefactor of Dance Art” — an Event Dedicated to Dance Master A. Shaboyan
On May 22, an event entitled “The Gyumri Benefactor of Dance Art,” dedicated to dance master Aghasi Shaboyan, was held in the hall of the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
The event began with a presentation of the life and career of the devoted master of dance, followed by a video about his stage art and his contribution to the development of Armenian dance. Students of the dance group performed songs and dances characteristic of Gyumri, accompanied by the pleasant and moving melodies of the duduk.
During the event, attendees watched recordings of concerts by the “Shirak” dance ensemble led by the master, excerpts from the film “Melodies of Shirak,” as well as the choreographic productions “Song of Victory,” “The Tree of Zeytun,” and “A Series of Gyumri Dances,” staged by the choreographer.
The conclusion of the event was particularly emotional and impressive. A letter written by Aghasi Shaboyan to his student, Murad Torosyan, the center’s senior choreographer, was read aloud. The letter was also a call to love the art of dance and educate future generations in the spirit of noble patriotic ideals.
The event was yet another opportunity to honor the great benefactor of dance art and immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere of Gyumri, rich in distinctive traditions and cultural heritage.
