
Center "Entanik". An event called "In the footsteps of the heroes of Vardanants"
On February 27, an event and discussion entitled "In the footsteps of Vardan heroes…" dedicated to the feast of St. Vardan was held in the children's creative center "Entanik" of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. The aim of the event was to present the Vardanants War as a heroic battle fought for the freedom and independence of the homeland, to valorize the message of the holy heroes of Vardanants and the role of religion in national preservation, to promote military-patriotic education of students, to valorize the history of the Armenian nation.
The event was attended by students of the workshops of civilization and mastery of speech, dance and theater art, parents, the assistant and teacher of Armenian literature of the S. Elbakian College, the teacher of the same institution Q. Grigorian, professor of the Gyumri State University of Theater and Fine Arts, branch S. Avetissian, teacher of the Gyumri Basic School No. 6 Z. Nahapetyan.
In the first part of the event, students of the theater art workshop with great skill as actors watched excerpts from the historical novel "Vardanank" by Derenik Demirchian, presenting the events that took place in Armenia in the 5th century, with excerpts from the uprising led by Vardan Mamikonian and the call of the great commander.
In the second part of the event, the film "Unknown Armenia - Avarayr" was screened, the students listened to and commented on the hymns "Norahrash" and "Ariatsealk" for the blessing of the holiday of St. Vardan. Then a discussion-analysis took place on the historical stages of the Vardanants war, the symbolism of the holiday of St. Vardanants.
The heroic battle of Vardanants was appreciated by the participants as a national struggle for the preservation of the national identity and faith of the Armenian people.
