“Teachers, We Bow Before You” — a Dedicated Event Honoring Teachers
On October 6, an event entitled “Teachers, We Bow Before You”, dedicated to Teachers’ Day and the Feast of the Holy Translators, was held at the “Mesropyan Alphabet” Reading Room of the “Yntaniq” Children and Youth Creative Center under the Ministry of Education and Science.
The event aimed to emphasize the importance of the creation of the Armenian alphabet as a powerful means of preserving the existence of the Armenian people, instill in the students the idea of preserving the Mesropian letters in their pure form and passing them on to future generations, and highlight the role of teachers in the education and upbringing of the younger generation.
Throughout the event, the students expressed their reverence and respect for the mission of the Great Teacher. Through words of praise, poems, and good wishes dedicated to teachers, the students conveyed their gratitude and appreciation to the educators. Congratulating them on their professional holiday, the students emphasized the invaluable role and significance of teachers, as well as their boundless dedication and love in the educational and upbringing process of generations.
During the event, the participants spoke about the Feast of the Holy Translators and presented the contributions of renowned Armenian figures to the creation of translated literature.
Particularly impressive was the theatrical performance by students of the Theater Arts Group, which depicted the necessity of creating the Armenian alphabet through the characters of Mesrop Mashtots and his “students.” This was followed by a screening of a video about the Armenian alphabet.
The event concluded with the first sentence from the Book of Proverbs of Solomon translated into Armenian:
“To know wisdom and instruction, to understand the words of insight.”
The phrase was presented as a defining expression of the Armenian spirit and an important means of preserving national identity.
