Komitas…

“He is clear, modest, elevated as the Ararat: he flies to the sky in his spiritual estate. His grain begins from the heart of the people, blossoms from their spirit, decorates with their emotions. He is the only one that is great and everlasting as the Ararat. He has crown on his forehead, which is sound blended. It is he that symbolizes the Armenian spirit, as the Ararat symbolizes the Armenian nature. Komitas…”

Tsitsilia Brutan

There are great people and the creation of the portraits of those people is up the opportunities of even the most genius painter and the most talented writer. One of those great people is Komitas, Mesrop Mashtots of the Armenian song, who immolated in the fire burned by him and left inextinguishable warmness in the Armenian culture. The stately language of the pure music of Komitas, is the source from which the Armenian music begins and spreads.

The bright, vivid proof of this is the recollection evening with the following title “Komitas, pain, recollection”, which took place on the 11th of July, in “Endanik” youth creative center.

The aim of the event is to introduce difficult, painful way of the Armenians, as of Komitas, who had very unhappy life and elegiac death, to disseminate in pupils the staunch will of survive, the feeling of proud towards the culture of the own country, which is known all over the world and towards the age – old history.

The pupils represent the diligent and creative spirit of Armenians, their tireless devotion to parent soil, the native miraculous nature, fields and mountains, the cloud and rain, thoughts and emotional experience of the people with slim diversity of colours, with the help of talking manners and nuances.

The audience was full of  lyric heartwarming breath, tipsy, dizzy with verses of gladness and grief, admired with pleasant peal of folk song.

The speech of pupils was simple, the reason of it was not the rarity, thinness of thought and emotions, but the reason of it was the crystal cleanness, lucidity of thought, which was conditioned by the complete harmony of  emotional experience and thought. These too exciting and heady verse lines are the silent evidences of the tragedy of the genius, the pages of the most cruel, savage tragedy, which is not personal, as it belongs to all people.

Thanks to the hard, careful work of Sona Sahakyan and Gayane Minasyan the entrancing and fascinating modulations of the organized event, which is very instructive, taking wings reached to the spirit of the audience and pupils, making them participant of “always resonant and always awake never-abating belfry” of Komitas.
