On April 17in a karate judo, sambo specialized school in Gyumri held an open championship on the international level entitled ''Oyamyan's Gavat (cup)'' dedicated to the founder of Kyokushinkay karate M. Oyamyan. The championship was attended by more than 100 athletes from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Javakhk and different regions of Armenia. The Ministry of SE of ''Endanik'' Youth Creative Centre's fighting arts club students had more achievements in this field. Eight participating students took the prizing places. Different age groups and weight classes’ three students became silver medal winners, 2nd place; five students were bronze medalists, ranking the 3rd place. The participants were awarded with diplomas. The students presented their victory to frontier soldiers, wishing them strength, solidity and unyielding. The holding of the tournament aimed to reveal the best athletes, which will have the opportunity to take part in European and World Championships. The Ministry of SE of ''Endanik'' youth creative centre's fighting arts club leader Kyokushinkai Karate black belt first dan Sargis Vardanyan was selected as a chief arbiter. At the end of the tournament S.Vardanyan received a proposal from Georgia's Kyokushinkay Karate Federation President next year to spend the tournament in the Caucasian republic of Georgia as the chief arbiter.
