On June 1, International Children’s Day
On June 1, International Children’s Day, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports summarized the Year of a Safe and Secure Educational Environment with an event entitled “My Contribution to a Safe Environment.”
The event, held at the Panno Art House of the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre, brought together around 200 students from Yerevan and different regions of Armenia. During the event, the authors of the best videos submitted in advance by general education schools under the theme “Year of Safe and Secure Education” were recognized and awarded.
The event was attended by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Araksia Svajyan, Director of the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre Vardan Mkrtchyan, and Director of the National Center for Education Development and Innovation Zhanna Harutyunyan.
Welcoming the participants, the Minister first congratulated the children on June 1, emphasizing that it was no coincidence that the activities of the Safe and Secure Academic Year, launched in September, were being summarized on this particular day. “Protecting children begins first and foremost with listening to children and making them active participants in protecting their rights and ensuring their safety,” the Minister noted, emphasizing that creating a safe and secure educational environment is a key prerequisite for a child’s full development.
The winning schools of the video competition entitled “Year of Safe and Secure Education” were awarded creative works created by the students of the “Endanik” Children and Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as tickets to various cultural institutions.
As part of the event, an Expo exhibition featuring works by students of the Technical Creativity Center and the “Endanik” Center was also organized.
