On September 19, the pupils of "Endanik" Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Science and Education within the framework of the "Reading is the Source of Development" program visited to the Shirak regional and Central Libraries after Mkrtich Armen. The aim of the visit was to form a culture of libraries visiting and using of reading halls, to contribute to the creation and strengthening of relation of reader – library. Adolescents of “Endanik" center youth groups from the communities of Shirak region and Gyumri city got acquainted with the huge amount of books in the library, rules and activities of library, gathered interesting and instructive information about collection of books, as well as about librarian attendance indicators."Associating" with the book depository the students singled out the works of their favorite literary genres and together with the librarians held a roundtable discussion. Each of the students presented why they have chosen that work. With their unique and peculiar approach and with reasonable comments, they were able to create an interest in book lover friends about the given work. The students had also read Khachatur Abovyan’s "Exhortation of the road of this book " fable from "The toy of free time” collection and together with librarians discussed the theme.
“Today we are happy and excited that you have organized such a beautiful and necessary initiative and lead the students to the library. You support them to enter the world of books and to have a direct reference to them. With this visit you also contribute to the students to keep "connection" with library, to work on their self education and develop their reading and writing skills. And this is a big and positive thing today. Thank you for your visit”, guide secretary of the central library Asya Gharibyan noted in her speech. The students of the center left the library with impressed, deep thought and readiness to return.
